Repeat prescriptions are appropriate only for registered patients who have been medically assessed as having a stable condition and have had a medication review within the last 12 months. Your clinician will let you know if you are eligible for repeat prescribing. Your prescribing clinician will determine the duration of a prescription based on clinical judgement. They should take into account individual patient risk, any monitoring requirements, and the type of medication being prescribed. Repeat prescriptions are available through the Manage My Health patient portal or by phoning our receptionists on 443 0710. You must inform the receptionist of:
- the exact name(s) of the medication(s)
- which pharmacy you would like it sent to, or whether you will collect it
Please allow 3 working days for your script to be processed. This service has a cost of $25. If you require an urgent script to be done, please call us on 443 0710. Repeat prescription changes from 1st February 2026
From 1st February 2026, there have been changes to the length of prescription your clinician can prescribe if it is clinically safe to do so.
Patients may be eligible for a 12-month prescription if:
- Condition and medication dose have been stable for at least 6 months.
- Regular monitoring is not needed, e.g. blood tests or blood-pressure checks.
- Medicine is approved for 12-month prescribing.
- The patient agrees to an annual in-person medication review without any other medical concerns arranged for that consultation.
The decision to extend your prescription length or not belongs with the prescribing clinician based on the above factors.
